Recruitment

Fire Sam

The Daugherty Township Volunteer Fire Department wants you!

The Daugherty Township Volunteer Fire Department is in need of new volunteers to asssit with the day to day staffing needs of the department. We need your help now more than ever. Due to increased call demands and a diminishing active enrollment, our current members are faced with the unrealistic task of balancing their personal and volunteer time. Most of the volunteer time is dedicated to training, maintenance, and responding to calls. Unfortunately, the lack of new enrollment and the continued reliance on an aging membership has begun to impact our ability to maintain a first class Volunteer Department.  We are looking for a few good men… and women too! We ask that you consider joining our team! If you are interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter, please contact the department at 724-847-3606.

Hall Rental

When planning your special occasion, consider the Daugherty Township Fire Hall. With room to accomodate up to 250 people, we can easily host nearly any event to include, Wedding Receptions, Anniversaies, Wedding and Baby Showers, Birthday Parties, Retirements, and Awards ceremonies and Banquets.

Catering is available. For more information call or leave a message at 724-847-3606.

2006 Spartan AdvantageThe Daugherty Township Volunteer Fire Department officers and members would like to take this opportunity to thank the Board of Supervisors for their generous donation of the 2006 Spartan Advantage Pumper truck provided by Elite Fire Apparatus, Inc. Without your support, this truck would not have been possible.

Dinner and Comedy Show Scheduled for November 1, 2008

The 2nd Annual Daugherty Township Volunteer Fire Department Dinner and Comedy Show is scheduled for Saturday November 1, 2008. Dinner will begin at 6:00 PM followed by a comedy show at 8:00 PM.

Below is our entertainment line-up for the evening:

Doc Dixon

For over 20 years he has entertained at special events -- from the formal atmosphere of corporate awards banquets to the casual atmosphere of a festival stage ... in Pittsburgh, New York, Las Vegas and virtually everyplace in-between. For more information go to
David Christiansen

David Christiansen began his comic career in the streets of Philadelphia, PA. Growing up with a father whose idea of a "real" job was something you could lose a limb doing, David soon learned the value of hard work...and how to avoid it!

Christiansen's humor draws the audience into the show. He often makes observations about his life that are painfully funny: "My wife gave me an ultimatum...I'm leaving you if you don't talk to someone about our marital problems'... SO HERE I AM."His fast-paced, machine-gun style delivery stops only long enough for audience responses that are manipulated by this Laugh Master. Refreshingly, his humor comes from a clever wit rather than shocking the audience with the filthy material you hear so much these days.

Even in the sharpest moments of social commentary, audiences are disarmed by his honesty and charm. Christiansen tells the story of one club owner who said, "I don't know how you got them to laugh without once saying !#$% even once, but they loved it. From casinos and comedy clubs to corporate events and tradeshows, from Alaska to Texas, from sea to shining sea, David Christiansen is a guaranteed crowd pleaser.
